Sir
Fred Hoyle (1915-2001) originally scoffed at the idea of a creator but studies
on the characteristics of carbon led him to conclude that: “A common sense
interpretation of the facts suggests that a super intellect has moneyed with physics,
as well as with chemistry and biology, and that there are no blind forces worth
speaking about in nature. The numbers one calculates from facts seem to me so
overwhelming as to put this conclusion almost beyond question.”
The
possibility that the existing fine tuning required for life in our universe
could be a blind accident is about as likely as the earth turning out to be
flat after all or that the latest supersonic jets created themselves out of
nothing. Most reasonable scientists conclude that believing in a supernatural
cause for which there is a lot of scientific evidence (Near Death Experience Studies
for example) is a lot more reasonable than imaging hypothetical timeless
universes which defy the very essential scientific laws and constants that
science depends on.
