Big Bang

In 1964 Arno Penzias, with Robert Wilson, encountered unexplained radio noise coming equally from every part of the sky while using the Bell Labs radio telescopein Holmden, New Jersey. They realized it was Cosmic Microwave Backround Radiation remaing from the Big Bang, confirming that it had occurred. Both Penzais and Wilson received the 1978 Nobel Prize in Physics.
